Druce Wayne is not your average rapper. He is not your average white dude either. Wayne will go from the coffee shop to the rap show in the same day. And he's not afraid to call out his own privilege in that. With a sound that is as authentic as it is unique, Wayne makes songs about his life by making love songs that have their names from athletes, a song about zodiac sign and temperament while sampling Grandmaster Flash, or his addictions and struggles with simply surviving.
In the summer of 2015 Druce Wayne came across Guerrilla Breed Founder and artist Jim Conway at Hubbly Bubbly’s monthly Rap competition “Art of Rap”. A then still budding artist Druce Wayne quickly saw value in Conway’s wisdom. Soon after that Druce Wayne partnered with The Guerrilla Breed collective to put on his first hip hop show “Choose the Bright Side” which would also serve as a fundraiser for The Cavett Kids Foundation which holds camps and other outreaches for children battling terminal illnesses. After a very successful event, a solid business relation foundation laid with the breed, and an even stronger friendship forged with Conway the obvious choice was for Wayne to join the collective.
Rapping about his own issues as much as the necessity of meaning in the world, he is always searching for something that gives this world purpose. Whether or not there is purpose, that's for the listener to decide.
